We are dedicated to economically empowering vulnerable women in Rwanda, particularly widows of genocide, to achieve sustainable livelihoods. By providing financial skills and access to resources, we transform gender roles and drive economic growth. Our programs teach women to save, start businesses, understand their rights, and prioritize their health. This knowledge is shared with their families and communities, creating long-term societal change.
Our strategy includes financial literacy, establishing Voluntary Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), and connecting women to financial institutions to foster savings and small businesses. We provide skills workshops, seed capital, and tackle social and economic barriers.
To reduce unpaid labor, we supply tools like stoves and solar lamps, allowing women more time for economic activities. We emphasize children’s education and incorporate rights awareness and women’s political participation. Additionally, we are committed to gender equity, offering Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response interventions. Through evidence-based advocacy, we raise awareness of women’s rights, ensuring their voices are heard. This comprehensive approach empowers women as agents of change, breaking cycles of poverty and fostering a brighter future for communities.
