Avega agahozo’s programs

Since its establishment, AVEGA has implemented various programs, including healthcare, women’s rights, social protection, peacebuilding and conflict management, child protection, and access to justice and advocacy. In 2021, AVEGA began a review process to realign its focus areas to better address the current context and evolving needs. Through this review and repositioning, AVEGA restructured its programs into the following thematic areas:
With this new strategic focus, AVEGA expanded its outreach beyond genocide widows to include other vulnerable women and children. Additionally, AVEGA’s programs now engage men and boys as allies in the protection and empowerment of women, fostering their role as change agents. Across all program areas, we prioritize gender equality, environmental protection, and a human rights-based approach (HRBA) as core, cross-cutting themes.
